Personal Statement
I am a highly qualified and experienced individual with an excellent level of leadership and man management skills. I have developed these attributes over a number of years working for a large PLC organisation. I am a likeable person and find that personal relationship building comes easily, which I have found to be a key attribute in both managing staff and building client trust.
I am currently working on a part time basis as a carer and personal assistant to a young man with autism and part time as a web designer. I gained an honours degree in health in 1996 specialising in hypo-kinetic disease and have a number of other relevant qualifications including health & safety, environmental awareness and energy maintenance.

I am currently working on a part time basis as a personal assistant / carer for a young 19 year old man with a form of autism. I have found this role very rewarding.

After being made redundant from my work with Parkwood Leisure Ltd. 18 months ago I have been pursuing my living by working from home on a part time. On a self employed basis I have been working as a web designer producing websites for clients. My portfolio can be viewed by using the links on page 3 on my c.v.
Both of the above jobs are occupations I have developed whilst looking for more full time positions. I decided it was very important to keep myself busy and stimulated whilst applying for permanent work.

General Manager (Parkwood Leisure Ltd)
I have worked in the Staffordshire Moorlands for Parkwood Leisure Ltd. managing three large leisure centres. Brough Park, Biddulph Valley & South Moorlands Leisure Centres, are three large facilities that have been managed by Parkwood Leisure Ltd. for the last ten years. I managed over 280 staff and a contract valued at over 2 million pounds over a 10 year contract life.

The Forum Leisure Centre, Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds. West Yorkshire.
The Forum Club is a facility based within the Headquarters for The Department of Health & Department of Work & Pensions. The centre is exclusive to public servants and their families and close friends. The club has a membership of around five thousand.

Working at both Brough Park & South Moorlands Leisure Centres in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Although I had been working for Parkwood Leisure Ltd on a freelance basis since 1997.

My first career move after leaving university was Senior Manager, at a local Bar and Music club. I was responsible for all daily financial issues, including income generation and expenditure, salaries, cashing-up, stock control, and all staffing issues including weekly rotas.

Before and during my study period, I had already started to prepare for my eventual graduation. I had been working as a self employed personal trainer and club owner, responsible for all areas of club management.

I am very reliable and self motivated, and able to work and think independently. Furthermore, I am able to invent and implement strategies to improve the business of which I’m involved in. I am a likeable person, but more importantly, able to command respect through leading from the front. I have always been able to hold strong relationships with clients.
I believe that I am able to offer you an expertise, commitment and enthusiasm that seem to be all too rare these days. I learn something different every day, which I also believe is an important strength. I am also a committed Christian and believe that forgiveness is the cornerstone of life.
